THE LAST HERD – London’s Last working herd of Shire Horses.

The Last Herd  is the story of the last working herd of Shire Horses in London.  In 1893 the capital had around 40,000 shires with over 6,000 employed in the brewery trade alone.  At the start of 2016 the Royal Parks’  herd was down to six but this has now risen to eight.   In a series of exquisite images, this book, by multi award winning photographer Paul Stewart, shows aspects of a year in their working life, and that of the people who work with them.  The book features the images from The Last Herd Exhibition plus many more. The book is an A4 landscape hardback of 150 pages on high quality art quality paper and fetures a wrap around dust jacket.  The book is to be launched in june 2017, pre order until 20th of June 2017 and receive a free 10″x 8″ print from the book. Amazing Who You Meet

Now in an extended edition  This is a book of images taken by Paul Stewart, one of Britain’s leading press photographers. As Stewart says, “Sometimes an assignment can produce a picture that it beyond the ordinary if you are quick enough to spot it, getting the right place to get it or know just how to set it up. This is a collection of images that I have enjoyed and I hope readers will too”.  First published in 2010, the book is still available from Photography into ART
